EXPECTATIONS FOR SSW VENDORS

New Vaccination Requirements for Vendors Visiting Hospitals (effective Sept 7, 2021)

The Chief Medical Officer of Health for Ontario has issued a new directive to all Ontario hospitals related to COVID-19 vaccination of employees, staff, contractors, volunteers, and students. As a vendor at one or more SSW hospitals, you are required to be compliant with these new measures, which come into effect September 7, 2021.  The directive and resource document can be found here.

Each SSW hospital may have its own specific policies and procedures, which you are required to be compliant with.  Most hospitals will be making these publicly available via their websites and/or through signage at restricted entrances.   Please note that many hospitals in Ontario will be requiring all vendors visiting on site to be fully vaccinated, and to show proof of this vaccination upon entry.

Should you have any questions, please contact Tammy Quigley - SSW's Vice President of Operations - at tammy.quigley@ssw.ca.

SSW conducts business with hundreds of Supplier organizations and we recognize the contributions suppliers play in contributing to the success of the Hospital’s supply chain in an increasingly challenging environment.

Supplier Relationships are an important interaction, it involves moving from a more traditional approach of price focus, and individualistic thinking to a new approach of joint planning, collaboration and more open communication. Our objective with our Suppliers is to build even stronger SSW-Supplier partnerships with shared accountability, alignment of goals and mutually beneficial outcomes that advance the quality of healthcare in SSW hospitals.

Expected benefits are to increase the value and efficiency of our working relationships with suppliers, improve communications and cooperation, and encourage continuous improvement through evidence based knowledge transfer that fosters innovation and an ongoing commitment to quality.
